The Spiders is the longest running digital awards programme in Ireland and we have celebrated he excellence of Ireland’s digital industry at The Round Room in Dublin’s Mansion House on March 31st for the 25th annual Spiders Awards, hosted by Tracey Carney.
The Event is sponsored by Dmac Media, Centre of Excellence in Universal Design, Skoda, Skillnet Ireland, DMG Media and Acast.
The special recognition of the Digital Hero Award went to Cork’s husband and wife duo, Dan and Linda Kiely. The pair were recognised as leaders in their field, having created a path for others to follow. They were lauded for their innovation, imagination and determination to succeed – traits that have set them apart from the pack.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Spiders, the longest and most established digital awards programme in Ireland. Over the past 25 years, the awards have continually adapted to the ever-changing digital landscape and have recognised digital pioneers including Patricia Scanlon of Soapbox Labs, Colin Meagle of Continuum Group, Joanne O’Riordan and Patrick & John Collison, Founders of Stripe.
Digital has been the connecting factor throughout the last 18 months and the return of the Spider Awards means the possibility of peer recognition for excellence with the award of an iconic Golden Spider.
The team looks forward to hosting over 400 of Ireland leading companies, in what will be the first Digital Awards celebration of 2022.
A key theme this year is, ‘Driving Digital, Emerging Stronger’ in celebration of the individuals, brands and teams who have continually adapted ways of working and engaging with their communities throughout the year.

The Spider Awards, Ireland’s longest-running digital awards programme, was due to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. We were very much looking forward to marking this milestone & rewarding the incredible achievements of the digital community over the past year with you all in November.
We always put the safety of our patrons, partners and attendees first. Based on the information provided by leading health organisations, and the outlook on COVID-19, we have made the decision to reschedule the Spider Awards to 2021.
We will continue to strive towards recognising excellence within Digital and are working on some exciting plans, which we look forward to sharing with you soon.
